What We’re All About.

You know how it is right? You’re 30-something, you think you’ve made your mark with that nice career you’ve been building for yourself right now. You think you’re modestly successful, but in reality you’re really bored somewhat, looking for a change of atmosphere maybe, or just looking for a brand new challenge.

Money Talks! is for Entrepreneurs and the Business-Minded. We’d like to help out the restless 20-somethings and 30-somethings, have them get their new projects started- whether it’s learning a new craft, building a new business from the ground up, or just meeting like-minded individuals and fellow entrepreneurs.

Money Talks! believes in making productive use of spare time. Think of it as hitting two birds with one stone. On one hand you have play, and on the other hand is work. Hobbies and other forms of recreation are great, but if you can actually make some money out of it, wouldn’t that be so much better?

Money Talks! believes in the Entrepreneur in Everyone. And there are a lot of people just like us out there, wanting to get into a new project, but either lack the technical expertise to get something going, or probably just need a little extra push from other business-minded folk.

Money Talks! is all about networking and helping each other out. There’s plenty of business for everybody, and with more people, are more opportunities for everyone to learn, and even make some extra cash. Sharing knowledge and resources not only generates a lot of goodwill, but also encourages strategic partnerships, and making businesses better.

So that’s what our little group is all about. Why do we put so much emphasis on entrepreneurs and business-folk? Other than the obvious ulterior motive of meeting new people, building a better network, learning new skills and making more money? It’s all about encouraging growth among the middle class, and creating better business for the country by empowering more individuals to take charge of their own income, rather than being totally dependent on salaried work.

We’d love to work with other individuals and groups who share this same sentiment. Give us a call, so we can sit down and toss around a few ideas, see what we can do together.

How It All Began.

It all started in July 2007. We were a bunch of writers for a relatively-unknown KPO company, but working for an incredibly supportive client.

You can say it was inevitable really; some of us were already freelancers of some sort, others were starting their own businesses, and the rest just wanted to do something new.

We all wanted to make extra cash. Each one had a share of business-worthy ideas, a string of contacts, and a lot of interesting stories to share. So why don’t we do something together? seemed to be the prevailing sentiment at the time, and so we did. Another was, Maybe we can help others just like us while we’re at it, and so we worked that in as well.

This is our very first venture. But one thing you can definitely be sure of, is that there will be a lot more projects coming up in the future. Money Talks! is just the beginning. As we sink our teeth into other viable ventures, you can expect a lot more from the team. In fact, if you have an idea, if you want to work with us, or even have us work for you, feel free to drop us a post, or get in touch with us at any of these email addies:

The Crew.

It was really destined to happen. Each of us have ventured into business and entrepreneurial activities in some way or form in the past, and each of us brings something to the table. It is not often that you get great minds and egos together to work towards a common goal- but here we are. And we’d like to do things that would really make a difference.

Renzie Baluyut is the group’s Director for Sales & Integrated Marketing. He has seen action as a radio executive for a little over 12 years; as a DJ, a segment producer, an events organizer, then eventually as production supervisor, sales consultant, and finally as sales and IMC manager. Also done time with a number of contact centers in the early 2000s, and dabbled a bit in internet marketing, journalism and HR. Currently a media & marketing consultant for a number of small clients, and runs his own marketing communications group as well as a fledgling travel agency.

Erika Guarino, the youngest of the group, is Director for Communications & Creative Content. She graduated with a degree in Broadcast Communications, cum laude, from the University of the Philippines. She is also a member of the International Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi. Erika has written, directed and produced several productions – both in and out of school. She was once a teenage consultant for Procter and Gamble, Philippines. Erika likes to dabble in photography every now and then. Her favorite subjects include sceneries and human drama. Currently, she is a script writer for radio dramas, a web content developer, and an occasional poet.

Tisha Palarca is the group’s creative mind, and is Director for Business Development and Finance. Her ideas are interesting, having acquired experience in various promotional campaigns from a big multinational company, as well as handling the marketing and financial requirements of her own business. Being the first one in the group to venture into business, she has learned valuable information through hard work which has inevitably given her nerves of steel. She’s not afraid to get into anything as long as she knows its lucrative viability. Currently, she’s cooking up new business ideas and developing web content for an Australian company.

Alex PastorAlex Pastor is the resident PR specialist in the bunch, and is Director for PR & Media Relations. He has been helping various companies come up with effective PR campaigns, making sure they get the most media mileage as possible. His 10 years worth of work experiences has always been in the realm of various forms of advertising, PR and media. He has even worked for the biggest broadcasting network as a segment host, segment producer and writer. Currently, he runs his own PR consultancy, is a business partner for an online sports lifestyle website, and is a regular contributing writer for some glossy magazines.

The Higher Purpose.

Yes, there IS a higher purpose to all this. On a personal level, entrepreneurship brings out the best in people. It encourages the development of people skills, business acumen and thinking out-of-the-box. You achieve success through hard work, creative thinking, and cooperating with others. Entrepreneurship gets you out of the proverbial “rat race”, allowing you to be less dependent on a regular salaried employment, and sets you off on a path where you continue to develop other assets and ideas, thus enabling you to be more self-sufficient.

Also, the rise of the entrepreneurs brings in a wealth of new opportunities for the country on so many levels. It brings in new business, creating a positive impact on the economy. It encourages people to take charge of their own fortunes, building a better, business-oriented society.
